He has experience of 30 Years of teaching as Dharmik teacher, 11 Years at Babu Amichand Panama Adeshwar Jain Temple, Walkeshwar, Mumbai and 9 Years at Shripal Nagar Jain Temple, Walkeshwar, Mumbai. Number of students studying at present - 400. Book written by Pravinbhai - Sutrarthsar Aatma Uddhar (2 Pratikaman Arth). Pravinbhai has done Payurshan Aradhana done at various places including Japan, Singapore, Houston (USA), Dubai, Bangkok (Thailand), New York (USA) & Israel.

Shri Dr. (Prof.) Dharam Chand Ji Jain: Dr. Jain is Professor of Sanskrit at Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. He also has stronghold in Prakrit language. His thrust area of interest is Jainism and Buddhism. He has done extensive research work on epistemology and logic in Jainism and Buddhism. He also takes active interest in other schools of Indian philosophy and sanskrit literature. He has served as the HoD, Sanskrit (2009-2012) and as founding director of Buddhist Studies Center, J N Vyas University (2006-2011). He is a chief editor of Jinvani- monthly Jaina Journal/magazine since October 1994. He also edited another bimonthly Jaina Journal - Swadhyay Shiksha (1988-2002). He has edited more than 25 books on Jainism and Buddhism. He has chaired sessions in various national and international seminars, symposia, workshops and conferences.

Shri Dr. Abhay Dagade: Professionally working as a Family Physician for last 30 years Dr. Abhay Dagade has studied many ancient Granthas such as: the Chhaha Dhala, Tatwarth Sutra, Ratna Karandak Shravakachar, Samaysar, etc. He has been arranging and conducting Swadhyaya classes twice a day in Shri Parshwanath Digambar Jain Mandir in Kopargaon. He worked as the chief of Digambar Jain Samaj in Kopargaon from 1999-2001. He helped with the construction of Bhagwan Chandraprabhu Chaityalaya. He arranged and conducted the Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav there as well. He has given lectures on various topics in many different cities.

The Opening Parade of Jain Centers is on Friday, July 3rd. All children are invited to come enjoy the parade with their parents and families! Kid's Club check-in will start at 12:45pm after lunch. Youth Activities Programming Committee is working around the clock to make sure your 2015 JAINA Convention experience is unforgettable. JCA NY Rath Yatra on June 13, 2015

Dear Sadharmik Brothers and Sisters,

We would like to bring to your kind attention that the preparations for the Rath Yatra are in full swing. Naresh T. Shah is leading the team of volunteers to pull through a beautiful ensemble of Jain Principles and Philosophy. We are going to have our Rath Yatra on June 13, 2015 at our Ithaca Street Temple.

The Yatra will have a beautiful Indra Dhwaja, 4 Floats, a Band, Dholi, 3 open cars, live music and our beautiful rath with our Arihant Bhagwan in them. The floats are being developed / created with beautiful themes of Non Violence, Namokar Mantra, Ashtapad and stories that depict Jain Faith. The dress for Sarathi, Chhadidar, Bhagwan's father and Indra will be provided by JCA. All other persons sitting in Rath should be in Pooja Cloths and without shoes. We will be starting sharp at 9:00 AM - as we have to finish our route by 12 Noon Sharp.

The enthusiasm of the seniors, volunteers, Art Gallery, Religious coordinators and temple's employees is beyond what we could have asked for, to put this up in such a short time. What we are now waiting to ensure is that the weather turns out beautiful, and why not, it is a yatra of our Bhagwan - so the Meghkumar Dev will take care of what they have to !!!!!

Jain Center of America, New York invites you to attend the Special General Body (GB) Meeting on Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 at 2:00 PM at our Temple, 43-11 Ithaca Street, Elmhurst, NY 11373.

The meeting will commence at 2:00 PM sharp. However, in the absence of a quorum, the meeting will start at 2:30 PM, as per the JCA Constitution.

Recently, a letter was sent to JCA members regarding the Lake Success approval information and details regarding the project (including cost estimates and expected future maintenance costs).

Please review by clicking this letter in detail prior to the meeting.

The agenda for the Special General Body Meeting is as follows:

• Prayer

• Lake Success approval report and details of the project by Chairman

• Possible decision whether to proceed or not to proceed for the project as it is currently approved

This is a special General Body meeting for the Lake Success Temple Project to discuss the approval of the project and to come to a conclusion for the presently approved project. Please note discussion in this meeting will be strictly limited to the Lake Success project as it is currently approved. No other matters or subjects will be entertained in this meeting.

If you have any specific questions or concerns regarding the Lake Success project and wish to discuss it in the General Body meeting, you must send your questions or concerns in writing and in advance so that they can be discussed properly. These questions or concerns must be sent in writing to the Secretary, Chairman or JCA Manager via fax or e-mail before April 20, 2015.

This is a very important matter for all members. Participation at the meeting is a privilege for and duty of us as members of JCA and, therefore, your attendance at the meeting would be greatly appreciated.

This letter has also been sent via email to members, posted on the JCA website and posted on the JCA notice board.

Dear Sadharmik Brothers and Sisters,

Earthquake in Nepal is a major disaster and has caused substantial human casualty and damage. It has affected Kathmandu and nearby regions. We are the followers of Bhagvan Mahavir and practitioners of Jivdaya. We cannot ignore the need and help required by our brothers and sisters in Nepal.

Jain Center of America has collected funds for many disasters and has sent funds to help. Many organizations always send help to disaster areas in the world and many have always helped disasters relief in India.

Jain Center of America NY requests members to send their donation, tax deductible, checks made to Jain Center of America NY for JCA Nepal Earthquake Fund 2015. You can give checks to JCA Manager. Or you can simply go to JCA’s website www.nyjaincenter.org and donate online.

JCA will make sure these funds will be distributed properly and will reach needy people of Nepal.

JCA has pledged $2,001 donation to the Nepal Earthquake fund.

Dear Sadharmik Brothers and Sisters,

Each year, JCA organizes the Cultural Program to celebrate Mahaveer Bhagwan Janma Kalyanak in which over 1,500 to 2,000 Jains along with their families from around the Tri State area attend to celebrate the religious festivities and cultural programs. We are pleased to have the opportunity to organize this incredible event for all the community to take part in again.

We invite you to participate in our Annual 2015 JCA Mahaveer Jayanti Cultural Program. Please come with family and friends to celebrate this auspicious occasion and our Jain heritage! Please bring the entire family so they can enjoy the beautiful cultural programs performed by our youths.

Diksha Ceremony of Nishaben Kapashi On Sunday, January 18, 2015

Many of you have attended the Bahuman celebration for USA born, Diksharthi Nishaben Kapashi at our Jain Center and listened to her tell why and how she has reached this religious decision of taking Diksha. The program went very well, some of you may have missed this once in a lifetime celebration.

JCA has posted this memorable video and photo album on the JCA website, so that you will have chance to watch and listen how Nishaben followed this pious path. I request all our JCA Members to take time out and watch with family and children.
